CONSTITUTION

Established at an Extraordinary General Meeting,
Sunday 13th May 2001

1. Name & Colours
The name of the Football Club shall be "Lee United Football Club ", hereinafter referred to as "the Club". The Club colours will be navy blue or white shirts, navy blue or white shorts and navy blue or white socks.

2. Address
The Address of the club will be that of the Club Secretary.

3. Aim
The aim of the Club is to enhance and develop the skills, team spirit and sheer enjoyment from the game of football of all members, by offering appropriate training facilities and the opportunity to play competitive football at their level, together with the right of parents to take responsibility for and become involved in the running of the Club and all its associated activities, ensuring that the Club offers opportunities for all children regardless of gender, race, culture, religion or means.

4. Powers
For the furtherance of this aim, the Club may

a) Provide training facilities and equipment.
b) Raise money to pay for the Club’s activities.
c) Make such payments as may be necessary.
d) Fix and collect the fees payable in respect of children attending the Club.
e) Control the admission of children to the Club and, if appropriate, require parents or guardians to withdraw them.
f) Take any actions that may benefit the Club.
g) Establish and maintain a code of conduct and require compliance from all members.

5. Membership
Playing Members: All children who attend the Club and are registered to play in a League and having made appropriate registration fees.
Family Members: Parents or guardians of all children who attend the Club. Each family to have one vote and count as one member at any general meeting.
Honorary Members: Other interested individuals, including those who assist the Club, once approved by the Committee shall be deemed honorary members of the Club and shall be entitled to one vote at any general meeting.

6. General Meetings
An Annual General meeting shall be held in May/June each year, at which the Annual Report and Accounts for the preceding year shall be presented and agreed.A Special General Meeting may be called at any time at the request of the Club
Protocol:-
The Secretary or Chair shall send a note of the date, time and place of each Annual General Meeting and any Special General Meeting, with a list of items to be discussed, to all members at least one week (7 days) before the date of the meeting.The quorum for any General Meeting shall be 33% of the Family Members. For this purpose, the membership of the Club is counted as the number of different families attending in the three weeks prior to the General Meeting. If fewer attend, a new meeting must be called.

7. Club Committee
The Club Committee shall meet at least six times a year and is responsible for ensuring that the Club complies with its aims and is properly managed. For voting purposes, the Committee shall consist of:

a) Eight Officers (Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary,Mini-Socer Secretary Treasurers, Fixtures Secretary and Social Secretary.
b) All Committee Members shall be elected for one year at the Annual General Meeting. Retiring Committee Members are eligible for re-election.
c) Co-opted members may join at any time on the invitation of the Committee.
d) In the event of the death or resignation of an elected member, the vacancy shall be filled until the next Annual General Meeting by a member appointed by the Committee.
e) All members of the Committee shall each have one vote. In the event of a tie, the Chair has a second.

8. Finance
The Treasurer shall keep proper accounts of the finances of the Club. At each Meeting the Treasurer and/or Deputy shall present a statement of the accounts to the Committee. Acceptance of these accounts by the Committee shall be recorded in the minutes.
At the end of the financial year, the Treasurer shall prepare accounts which, shall be presented to the Annual General Meeting.
The funds of the Club shall be used only for the purpose of the Club and no payment shall be made to any member except:

a) As repayment of expense properly incurred on behalf of the Club, or
b) As interest at a reasonable rate on money lent to the Club.

All assets shall be the property of the Club. Assets will be used by members to the furtherance of the Clubs’ aims but shall at all times remain the property of the Club.

9. Dissolution
If members decide to terminate the existence of the Club, any funds or equipment remaining after all debts have been paid shall be distributed to a charity, designated by the majority vote of the Club Committee.

10. Change of Constitution
This Constitution may be altered if the members present at a General Meeting vote in favour of changing it.
